CINEMA CULT Announce September Releases!

It’s been a few months between releases for Shock‘s CINEMA CULT imprint label but they’re back this September with two first-time to local Blu-ray releases!

First up is Lamont Johnson’s 1972 thriller, YOU’LL LIKE MY MOTHER, starring Patty Duke (VALLEY OF THE DOLLS), Rosemary Murphy (BEN) & Richard Thomas (IT).

When her husband is killed in Vietnam, Francesca Kinsolving (Duke) finds herself pregnant and alone. She resolves to visit her in-laws in Minnesota, believing, based on her late husband’s assurances, that she’ll be welcomed there. Instead, she finds Mrs. Kinsolving (Murphy) a dreadful curmudgeon who won’t even admit that her son married. Shaken but not scared off, Francesca sticks around and discovers she may be entitled to the family fortune.

CINEMA CULT’s second release for September is Jacques Tourneur’s 1957 classic NIGHT OF THE DEMON (aka CURSE OF THE DEMON) with Dana Andrews (LAURA), Niall MacGinnis (JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS) & Peggy Cummins (GUN CRAZY).

American professor John Holden (Andrews) arrives in London for a conference on parapsychology only to discover that the colleague he was supposed to meet was killed in a freak accident the day before. It turns out that the deceased had been investigating a cult lead by Dr. Julian Karswell (MacGinnis). Though a skeptic, Holden is suspicious of the devil-worshiping Karswell. Following a trail of mysterious manuscripts, Holden enters a world that makes him question his faith in science.

YOU’LL LIKE MY MOTHER and NIGHT OF THE DEMON arrive on Blu-ray & DVD from September 2nd.
