Monster Fest 2021 / 22 September 2021

MONSTER FEST 2021 Melbourne Date Change & Expanded Program!

Nothing good ever comes easy, such is the motto of 2020 2021 and as MONSTER FEST prepares to celebrate its 10th Anniversary, we’ve had to shift our dates to ensure greatness.

Unfortunately due to continued lockdowns and subsequent cinema closures, we’ve been forced to move our Melbourne festival dates back a month from November 4 – 11 to December 2 – 12.

The aforementioned issues have meant that we have made the difficult decision to cancel our interstate dates in Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth & Sydney. Due to the uncertainty around us being able to execute all planned MONSTER FEST events announced for 2021 to our complete satisfaction, we have opted to cancel the interstate dates rather than compromise on the quality of the festival.

MONSTER FEST director Grant Hardie says “We are 100% committed to keeping the MONSTER FEST tradition of an in-cinema event only and the challenges we continue to face upholding this have put us in this difficult position of making this decision”.

In light of our interstate cancellations, we are currently exploring the possibility of Special Event Screenings with our festival partners Event Cinemas in NSW, QLD, SA & WA.

With the bad news comes the good though, as we are now focusing all energy and attention on ensuring our Melbourne edition is the biggest and best yet!

We are expanding our scheduled number of days from 7 to 10 and with that playing the largest amount of films in MONSTER FEST history.

That’s now 10 days of the latest and greatest genre and cult cinema programming from around the world, with World & Australian Premiere screenings, Filmmaker Q&As, Panel Discussions and Special Events.

Stay tuned as we intend to announce our full program for MONSTER FEST 2021 Melbourne in the coming weeks!
