As Monster Fest‘s 2022 Melbourne festival has now wrapped and on the eve of our festival dates kicking off this Thursday night in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth & Adelaide, we’re pleased to reveal our Monster Fest 2022 Award Winners.
GOLDEN MONSTER

Director/Producer Dick Dale | Australia 2022
Dick Dale, patron saint of Australia’s sickest short film touring program TRASHARAMA, made the leap from short to feature filmmaker with RIBSPREADER and picked up the most coveted Monster Fest award for Best Film, the Golden Monster.
About RIBSPREADER:
Decades after his career as a tobacco advertising icon, Bryan Burns’ life is in ruins. After his mother dies of lung cancer, he is tormented by a talking cigarette on an anti-smoking billboard. He snaps and transforms into the Ribspreader, a killer stalking the city, extinguishing smokers and cutting out their lungs to make his macabre smoking jacket.
