With a month to go before MONSTER FEST TRAVELLING SIDESHOW rolls into Perth at Event Cinemas Innaloo for three days of pure movie mayhem, we’re psyched to reveal our final wave of programming!
Making its Australian Premiere is Oscar-nominee Luca Guadagnino’s SUSPIRIA, this modern reimagining of Dario Argento’s 1977 masterpiece boasts an all-star cast that includes Dakota Johnson (BLACK MASS), Tilda Swinton (WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN) and Mia Goth (A CURE FOR WELLNESS) and has been described by IndieWire as “a film of rare and unfettered madness“.
Following its world premiere at Cannes earlier this year, where its shockingly graphic violence and joyously nihilistic underpinnings caused over 100 walk-outs, Lars von Triers latest cinematic experience, THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT slices, slits and stabs its way into the Monster Fest Travelling Sideshow line-up in its very first Australian screening. This provocative and controversial thriller follows the decade long career of titular serial killer, Jack (Matt Dillon) as he strives to concoct his most elaborate work of psychotic genius, resulting in a darkly sinister melange of callous sophistry and disturbingly humorous sociopathy.
