3 WOMEN Screening & Talk w/ Emma Westwood

Cinema Nova‘s third and final screening in the Identity Horror October series of RETRO/SELECTIVE is Robert Altman‘s 1977 psychological horror 3 WOMEN with a pre-show talk by film historian and author Emma Westwood on Altman’s female-centric horror films.

Two physical therapists that are roommates – one a vain woman and the other an awkward teenager – share an increasingly bizarre relationship when they come into contact with a strange artist and her husband. Starring Shelley Duvall (The Shining), Sissy Spacek (Carrie) and Janice Rule (The Swimmer), Altman’s dark allegory is a fascinating insight into the search for identity.

3 WOMEN this Friday 7pm (October 21) at Cinema Nova.
