Monster Fest 2023 Award Winners Revealed
As our Melbourne festival has now wrapped and on the eve of our dates this Friday through Sunday night in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth & Adelaide, we’re pleased to reveal our Monster Fest 2023 Award Winners.
GOLDEN MONSTER – BEST FILM
THE EMU WAR

Lisa Fineberg (writer/director/producer/actor), Jay Morrissey (writer/director/producer), Aaron Gocs (actor), John Campbell (writer/director/producer) & Jonathan Schuster (writer) accept their Golden Monster award for BEST FILM.
About the film:
Based on the infamous Great Emu War of 1932, a rag tag platoon of soldiers are driven into a brutal and bloody battle against Australia’s deadliest flightless beasts. Haunted by the kidnapping of his son at the hands of the Emus, Major Meredith leads the platoon behind enemy lines in order to kill the emus Leader the Queen Emu.

TIME ADDICTS

Writer/Director Sam Odlum & Producer Tessa Mansfield-Hung accept their Lexlab Presents BEST AUSTRALIAN FILM award along with their $5,000 Lexlab Digital Marketing Package.
About the film:
In desperate debt to their volatile drug dealer, best friends, Denise and Johnny, agree to a sketchy job to pay off their last hit – breaking into a decrepit stash house to steal a bag of mysterious drugs. But whilst getting into the house may be easy, escape proves more troublesome, as the pair find themselves trapped inside with a deranged fiend.
