Get A Sneak Peek At THE BLACK PHONE
With one week to go before THE BLACK PHONE opens in Australian Cinemas on July 21, Universal Pictures have just released the following two Scene Clips from the film…
Filmmaker Scott Derrickson (SINISTER, THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE) returns to his genre roots and partners up again with Blumhouse for THE BLACK PHONE with Ethan Hawke (PREDESTINATION, THE PURGE) making a rare turn as the film’s villain, ‘The Grabber’.
Finney Shaw (Mason Thames), a shy but clever 13-year-old boy, is abducted by a sadistic killer (Hawke) and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is of little use. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims. And they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney.
Derrickson co-wrote THE BLACK PHONE screenplay with his writing partner on SINISTER and DOCTOR STRANGE, C. Robert Cargill, based on a short story by author Joe Hill (HORNS).
