THEY SHOOT HORSES, DON’T THEY? Screens In Melbourne This Friday
Cinemaniacs return this Friday (March 4 – 7:30pm) with a screening of Sydney Pollack‘s gritty THEY SHOOT HORSES, DON’T THEY? at ACMI in Melbourne and tickets are on sale now.
Set amidst the bizarre and cruel world of Depression-era marathon dance competitions, this gritty, terrifying opus is a testament to cinema par excellence.
With Jane Fonda in the lead as a woman completely damaged and distorted by life, the ugliness of human nature emerges in and around the exhausting musical interludes and gut busting relay races.
The screening will proceeded with a talk by Dr. Eloise Ross.
Melbourne audiences can prepare for a diverse and outstanding 2022 program that includes ORDINARY PEOPLE, CREEPSHOW, THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT, ALL THAT JAZZ, GUN CRAZY, SQUIRM, BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS and CHILD’S PLAY 2.
