What’s Streaming On SHUDDER This September!

As September approaches, here’s a guide to everything that’s coming to SHUDDER throughout the month.

SEPTEMBER 2

SUPERHOST (2021)

Teddy and Claire are travel vloggers who run a channel called “SUPERHOST” where they travel and share their experiences in and around vacation homes – and, until recently, had become successful doing it. With a dwindling subscriber count, they find the perfect opportunity to create content that people want to see when they meet Rebecca, the host of their most recent trip. Slowly they start to realise that something isn’t right with Rebecca and, as they investigate it further, they unlock a horrifying truth. She doesn’t just want a great review, she wants something far worse.

SEPTEMBER 3

POSSESSOR (2020)
From the visionary mind of Brandon Cronenberg (Antiviral), Possessor is a game-changing sci-fi thriller about elite, corporate assassin Tasya Vos. Using brain-implant technology, Vos takes control of other people’s bodies to execute high-profile targets. As she sinks deeper into her latest assignment, Vos becomes trapped inside a mind that threatens to obliterate her.

SEPTEMBER 6

WILLARD (1971)
Willard Stiles (Bruce Davison, Insidious: Chapter 4) is a young man with a big problem. He lives alone in a crumbling house with his ailing mother (Elsa Lanchester, Arnold, Bride of Frankenstein). His boss, Al Martin (Ernest Borgnine, Escape from New York) is a vulgar, cruel man who stole his business from Willard’s father and is now working Willard to death at his factory job. Lonely, depressed and isolated, Willard is on the verge of a breakdown when he makes a new friend: Ben, one of the many rats who inhabit his dilapidated home. Not only can Willard communicate with the rodent, but he can actually command him to do his bidding. Using Ben and his furry friends as instruments of retaliation, Willard commands his pets to carry out his vengeance.

BEN (1972)
When detective sergeant Cliff Kirtland (Joseph Campanella, Meteor) investigates the horrifying murder of Willard Stiles by a band of rats, he discovers that the rats are now an organized army, and he must destroy the murderous rodents before it is too late. But the rats, led by Ben, the only survivor of the Willard attack, take to the challenge with full force and little fear.

SEPTEMBER 9

MARTYRS LANE (2021)
Leah, 10, lives in a large, run-down vicarage with her parents and hostile older sister. She can’t quite work out why her mother seems distant and is fascinated by the locket she wears around her neck. At night the vicarage seems to come alive with sounds. One morning, Leah spots the locket left on the bathroom shelf. She opens it and steals what she finds inside, sparking a chain of events that will turn the sounds that she hears at night into something much more frightening.

SEPTEMBER 13

THE LAWNMOWER MAN (1992)
Dr. Lawrence Angelo (Pierce Brosnan) is a brilliant scientist obsessed with perfecting virtual reality software. When his experiments on animals fail, he finds the ideal substitute – Jobe Smith (Jeff Fahey), a slow-witted gardener. Dr. Angelo’s goal is to benefit his human guinea pig and ultimately mankind itself, but evil lurks the guise of “the Shop,” a shadowy group that seeks to use the technology to create an invincible war machine. When the experiments change the simple Jobe into a superhuman being, the stage is set for a Jekyll-and-Hyde struggle for the control of Jobe’s mind and the future of the world.

THE LAWNMOWER MAN 2: BEYOND CYBERSPACE (1996)
Jobe, the computer-enhanced genius of Lawnmower Man, is resuscitated by Jonathan Walker, a conniving businessman who wants Jobe to create a special computer chip that would enable him to rule the world through a network of computers.

SEPTEMBER 14

KRIYA (2020)
A nightmare odyssey of a young DJ named Neel who is picked up one fateful night by the beautiful Sitara, only to be thrust into a hallucinatory world of ritual magic surrounding the imminent death of her father.

SEPTEMBER 20

THE MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH (1964)
The evil Prince Prospero, a medieval Italian prince, devoted to the pursuit of evil and the worship of Satan, enjoys the high life in his eerie country castle as the Red Plague destroys the peasant population around him.

THE BEAST MUST DIE (1974)
In the swan song horror production from ‘The Studio That Dripped Blood’, Peter Cushing, Calvin Lockhart (COTTON COMES TO HARLEM), Charles Gray (THE DEVIL RIDES OUT), Anton Diffring (CIRCUS OF HORRORS) and Marlene Clark (GANJA & HESS) star in a ‘70s whodunit like no other. An eccentric millionaire has invited a group of eight colleagues to his island estate to hunt the deadliest game of all: One of the guests is a werewolf, and will be stalked and slaughtered for sport. But who is the lycanthrope, and do they have a shocking plan of their own?

SEPTEMBER 29

SÉANCE (2021)
Camille Meadows is the new girl at the prestigious Edelvine Academy for Girls. Soon after her arrival, six girls invite her to join them in a late-night ritual, calling forth the spirit of a dead former student who reportedly haunts their halls. But before morning, one of the girls is dead, leaving the others wondering what they may have awakened.

Also heading to SHUDDER this month is CREEPSHOW SEASON 3 which arrives every Thursday from September 23.
